Call for Proposals: Host ACM MMSys 2027

The ACM MMSys Steering Committee is soliciting proposals to host and organize the ACM Multimedia Systems Conference (MMSys) and its associated workshops in 2027.

Conference Overview

ACM MMSys is the premier forum for researchers to present and share cutting-edge findings in multimedia systems. While specific aspects of multimedia systems are often published in various proceedings and transactions across networking, operating systems, real-time systems, databases, mobile computing, distributed systems, computer vision, and middleware communities, MMSys uniquely bridges these domains. This interdisciplinary approach provides an unparalleled opportunity to explore the intersections and interplay of diverse solutions developed to handle multimedia data types.

Recent and Upcoming Locations:

MMSys is typically held in late Spring (around April) and rotates between continents to ensure global representation. The number of participants has hovered around 150 in recent years.

Submission Guidelines

Prospective hosts should email proposals to steering-committee@mmsys.org by February 28, 2025, using the subject line "MMSys 2027: Hosting Proposal (City, Country)". Please use the provided template for your submission.

Selection Criteria include:

  1. Strength of the organizing committee
  2. Comprehensive conference plan, including financial viability
  3. Proposed side event programs
  4. Appeal and accessibility of location

The ACM Multimedia Steering Committee will evaluate the proposals and select the host through a majority vote.
